Conille has announced the creation of committees and working groups that include civil society with oversight institutions to identify and implement the necessary reforms to fight against corruption
The transitional prime minister of Haiti, Garry Conille, who held meeting with national experts and public officials in matters of effective management and good governance, has indicated that he will work to “clean up” State institutions, fight against corruption and impunity,” according to a statement from his office.

With this intention, Conille has announced the creation of committees and working groups that include civil society with oversight institutions to identify and implement the necessary reforms to improve these aspects.
“Transparency constitutes the cornerstone of public trust and good governance. A dynamic that will require effective collaboration with control institutions to prevent corruption and guarantee effective management of the State’s public resources,” he stated.
The PM also appointed a new interim director general of the national police. Rameau Normil, who already held this position between August 2019 and November 2020, has been re-elected as head of the institution.
The head of Government has asked Normil to “demonstrate responsible leadership capable of inspiring confidence in police officers who, without a doubt, must work, in concert with the affected sectors, to restore security and the resolution of the humanitarian crisis that is plaguing the country.
Haiti has witnessed for decades situation of chaos, extreme violence, poverty, corruption, political disruption, and a power vacuum left since the president’s assassination.
